Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation has taken an initiative to organize a one-day workshop “Training Centre Affiliation & Accreditation under NSDC in Tripura” on 19th January, 2017 (Thursday) at Hall-2, Pragna Bhawan, Gurkhabasti, Agartala, Tripura. The workshop will detail about SMART to understand the process of Training center affiliation & accreditation through www.smartnsdc.org and also deliberate on other issues relating to Skill Development in Tripura. SMART provides a mandatory single window application that focusses on the accreditation, affiliation and continuous monitoring of the training centres in the skill ecosystem and intends to address the important issues like evaluating skill providers in an objective manner, fostering excellence in training centres, enabling trainees to make informed choices with regard to training centres etc.

Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura in collaboration with MSDE is going to organize a one day workshop to sensitize all the stakeholders like Government of Tripura officials, all Sector Skill Councils, Private Training Providers, National Skill Development Corporation officials. various skill development schemes in Tripura. The objective of the workshop it to sensitize all the Training Providers and other stakeholders in Tripura w.r.t. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 2.0), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK), Training Center accreditation, Sector Skill Council affiliation , Target allocation and Action Plan of Govt. of Tripura on Focus sectors through various skill development schemes .

11 May 2016 Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura and Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of Tripura in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India ) has organized a one-day conference on “North East Dialogue-Sports for Employment” The conference was the detailed about the demand –supply resources of the sports industry, job opportunities available in sports sector. North Eastern India has been a pioneer in sports sector traditionally, contributing many eminent sports personalities to the national and international sports fraternity in athletics, football, tennis, hockey, weightlifting, boxing, archery, gymnastics and adventure sports. It is important that key stakeholders in the industry and experts in India should work towards setting up a strong base in the region and it calls for a consultative process by means of a National Conference Series on Sports for Employment.
06 May 2016 Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura in association with National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) has organized a one-day workshop on “Sensitization on National Skill Qualification Framework” on 6th May, 2016 at Hall No-3, PragnaBhawanAgartala.
The workshop was the detailed about to understand the concepts of level descriptors, to derive learning outcomes from the current curriculum and to fill up a qualification file for their current qualification to align them to National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). In order to facilitate mobility from vocational to general education, and vice-versa, a qualification framework for India, i.e. NSQF will help make qualifications more understandable and transparent. Besides these, there are several other factors which necessitates the NSQF-
  • Need for outcome –based learning
  • Clearly defined progression pathways leading to horizontal and vertical mobility
  • Establishing equivalence of certificates/diplomas/degrees in different parts of the country
  • Recognition of prior Learning
  • Alignment with international standards
  • To build employers’ trust in training
  • To add credibility to vocational education

11 March 2016 Stressing the need for enhancing skills of the youth and encouraging entrepreneurship, a day-long workshop on 'Skill Development and Opportunities in Tripura' was organized recently by the Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The event was held at PragnaBhawan with an aim to bring closer multiple stake holders like trainees, training agencies and certifying agencies and remove disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower. Apart from state government's representatives, officials from the NSDC, renowned Indian hair stylist Jawed Habib; Vinod Kulkarni, Head of CSR Tata Motors; DrPriyaSomiya, Executive Director of Usha International Ltd; and KushalMitra, Director and CEO Indus were attended the workshop.
29 September 2015 With an aim to fulfill the growing need of India for skilled manpower across the sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills, a workshop on Roadmap for Skill Development in Tripura” was held at PragnaBhawan on 29th September, 2015. The program mainly aims to integrate efforts of various departments of the State and Central Government organizations engaged in providing skill development training and make available employment oriented and placement linked training in vocational skills to youth in the age group of 14 to 35 years by 2016-17, and even at a greater pace thereafter, by partnering with Government and private training providers, while ensuring equitable access to the most disadvantaged, including women; and strive for placement of preferably of the trained youth in gainful wage and self-employment to enable them to contribute to the economic development of the State. The workshop also held a tie-up session which included interaction between all line departments of the State Governments, various Sector Skill Councils, NSDA personnel and training providers.
